Stanley GREENE
Ancien Black Panther né à New York en 1949, Stanley Greene se lance dans la photographie après sa rencontre avec Eugène Smith, l’un des pionniers du photojournalistes, dont il remportera d’ailleurs le prestigieux prix en 2004 pour son reportage sur la guerre en Tchétchénie.
D’abord photographe de mode, il se spécialise, pour l’agence Vu, qu’il a rejointe en 1991, dans les reportages durs, sur la misère, la guerre en Afrique, en ex-URSS, en Asie, en Amérique Centrale ou au Moyen-Orient. Il participe avec d’autres photographes à la création de l’agence Noor en 2007, affichant une ligne éditoriale pure : un retour à l’essai photographique comme genre à part entière.
