Faire voler le sport

Mathieu Forget

As a guest of the editorial team, Mathieu Forget—aka Forgetmat—is taking over the Factory to “make sports fly.” The 34-year-old artist, son of Guy Forget, turned his back on a predetermined career in tennis to make a living from his passions: dance, photography, and social media. For the past two years, the man also known as the “Flying Man” has been visiting Olympic venues and creating weightless self-portraits to showcase the spaces. There, he had fun inviting elite athletes to perform funny, choreographed aerial duets. Enzo Lefort, Florent Manaudou, Romane Dicko… They’ve all posed for his camera. “As I went along, I took the athletes out of their usual world. That’s what interests me in photography: when contrast tells a beautiful story.”
