Flore Prebay
Flore Prebay is a visual artist and photographer born in Paris in 1998. Through a deeply sensory approach, she explores the world by using photography as an emotional language—a means of expressing what words cannot. After graduating with a Bachelor's degree in 2020, she founded her studio, Dépoli, in Malakoff, where she gradually shifted her practice from fashion photography toward a more experimental and multidisciplinary artistic approach. She enhances her photographic prints with watercolor, oil paint, and charcoal before mounting them onto handmade paper crafted by her uncle, a master papermaker. Prébay's work examines ephemerality, territory—understood as geographical, human, and emotional—and the human condition through images in which every detail carries an intimate resonance. Her practice unfolds as an inward journey, attentive to the invisible, the unspeakable, and the fragility of existence. Through a subtle visual language, she reimagines deeply personal subjects, creating works that become sensitive reflections of reality.
In 2023, she was a finalist for the Picto Fashion Photography Prize with her series Illusion, exhibited at the Palais Galliera. In 2024, she was again selected as a finalist for the Picto Fashion Photography Prize with her series Onirique and was chosen for the Prix des Jeunes Talents by Les Agents Associés, presenting her work at Agence VU'. That same year, she created Deuil Blanc, an intimate series exploring grief, and was selected for Approche – Unrepresented 2025, supported by Initial Labo. On the occasion of the fair, a unique artist's book was produced in a limited edition in collaboration with Ruscombe Mill Paper and Laurel Parker Books. The publication has since entered the national collections of the Bibliothèque nationale de France (BnF).
She was also among the laureates of the 2025 Biennale de l'Image Tangible, where she exhibited Deuil Blanc. Later that year, she presented Deuil Blanc, the Book at Paris Photo.
In 2026, she exhibited as part of the HIP Prize and the Festival Les Femmes s'exposent. In November, she will present her work at the Paris 9th arrondissement Town Hall as part of the Objectif Femme Festival, of which she is also a laureate.
In October 2026, she will unveil a new body of work entitled The Present Ones (Les Présents), created during the Jeune Création residency at the Planche(s) Contact Festival in Deauville.
In 2027, she will also participate in the Les Mesnographies Festival.
In July 2026, she joined Polka Galerie.
