Mario Giacomelli

Je ne fais pas le photographe, je ne sais pas le faire

Mario Giacomelli

Born in 1925 (Senigallia, Italie) and died in 2000

"My photography is the representation of the displacement of signs and the fracture of pure reality, in order for the image to present itself in an interior architecture between an idea and abstraction. They are the translation of reality in states of the soul and the search for new energies."Read more

"We notably remember this celebrated photographer's series on hospices, landscapes seen from airplanes, and the lives of individuals living in the countryside, yet Giacomelli never stopped inventing. There are other photographs from his various series, some of which can be found on his film rolls. He would play in the laboratory, superimposing negatives, adapting to accidents... Giacomelli has created a graphic and singularly abstract language. His images can be brought together as if they were a long sentence written by a visual poet, which he always will be."
