Collective exhibition featuring artwork by: Bernard Cantié, Richard Dumas, Elliott Erwitt, Bruce Gilden, Alexander Gronsky, William Klein, Yves Marchand & Romain Meffre, Joel Meyerowitz, Daido Moriyama, Janine Niépce, Claude Nori, Jean-Marie Périer and The Anonymous Project.

After two months of quarantine, Polka galerie has chosen to re-open its doors and give the floor over to our represented photographers until September, in the form two successive group exhibitions.

The first part of this summer’s program will be devoted to the crowd, the bustling streets, filled with dancing and buzzing with life! All these faces, crowded restaurant terraces, concert halls, street dances, and the booming energy of the crowd that we so missed will be displayed on our walls!

The sentimental crowd ebbs and flows, captured in Joel Meyerowitz’s lens focusing on New York City streets, in Daido Moriyama’s Tokyo frenzy, in William Klein’s "street-models", in Claude Nori’s bustling Italian beaches, in carefree family memories from The Anonymous Project’s collection and in iconic Rock and Roll portraits by Richard Dumas.

A total of 14 photographers take over the gallery walls at rue Saint-Gilles, ready to welcome you in very good company!

In July and August, the gallery will present the second chapter dedicated to the “Jours d’après”, or “The Days that Follow”, giving the floor to those Polka photographers, who have always seen the world differently and are now reinventing it.

We are looking forward to seeing you back at the gallery again soon!
