Passionate about aviation, he is a professional IFR pilot and has broken several world speed records. The only pilot of the name, Olivier Dassault (grandson of Marcel Dassault, founder of the eponymous group) is now a member of the National Assembly and Chairman of the Strategy and Development Committee of the Dassault Group.

He carries out several activities simultaneously, but it is without a doubt his artistic career that is most important to him. The portraits of famous actresses - Isabelle Adjani, Isabelle Huppert, Jane Birkin ... - from the beginning have gradually given way to abstract compositions in which light plays the main role. He quickly made the choice to free himself from the constraint of realism and explored color as a source of inspiration. He tries to fix or recreate the movement by cultivating the effects. From the curve of bodies to that of the sky, from landscapes to urban visions, his environment becomes the subject of his explorations.

Faithful to his Minolta XD7 and the overprinting process, Olivier Dassault has asserted his own photographic language. His photographs are held in the collections of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, the Houston Museum of Fine Arts, the Palm Springs Art Museum and the Israel Museum in Jerusalem.
